Launch Afkar, “a think and action tank” designed to develop effective and workable solutions proposed by key actors in a defined subject area. By lowering barriers to action, Afkar creates a context for participants to think about the structural aspects of the problem and then make actionable commitments within the reality of the Tunisian context.
Over 50 key players in Tunisia civil society participated in the first edition of Afkar on April 4, 2015. This session focused on the state of civil society in Tunisia and studied the topic through by a) analyzing the development and role of civil society in Tunisia since 2011, and b) looking ahead to issues of decentralization, local elections, and accountability of civil society for 2015 and beyond.
